Íslensk gistiþjónusta hefur fengið mikilvæga alþjóðlega viðurkenningu en fimm hótel hér á landi hafa nú hlotið hinn eftirsótta Michelin lykil, sem veittur er af Michelin Guide fyrir framúrskarandi gistiaðstöðu og einstaka upplifun gesta.

Áhrifavaldurinn Brittany Hawes, sem stendur á bak við ferðavefinn Passport Playdate, heimsótti Ísland nýverið í samstarfi við Markaðsstofu Suðurlands. Brittany ferðast reglulega ein með fjögurra ára dóttur sína og deilir reynslu sinni og nytsamlegum ráðum um ferðalög með börn til stórs fylgis á samfélagsmiðlum og á bloggsíðu sinni.

Markaðsstofa Suðurlands tók þátt í ferðakaupstefnunni VestNorden Travel Mart sem fór fram á Akureyri dagana 30. september - 1. október sl. Átti sýningin 40 ára afmæli að þessu sinni og var þetta í sjötta skiptið sem Vestnorden var haldið á Akureyri.

Það hefur verið margt á döfinni hjá Markaðsstofu Suðurlands það sem af er hausti og er nú meðal annars einni stórri franskri blaðamannaferð nýlokið. Ferðin var unnin í samstarfi við Icelandair og Íslandsstofu, en á hið síðarnefnda í öflugu samstarfi við PR skrifstofuna FINN Partners varðandi markaðssetningu á Íslandi innan helstu markaða landsins.
