Summer reaches its peak in the countryside as Grímsævintýrin at Borg returns once more!
This long-standing and heartwarming country festival, hosted by the Grímsnes Women’s Association (Kvenfélag Grímsneshrepps), has brought joy to locals and visitors for decades – and the famous Tombóla (Grand Raffle), dating back to 1926, is still going strong! This year, we plan to make it bigger and better than ever!
As always, the schedule is full of highlights:
Theatre group Leikfélagið Borg performs with smiles and spirit
The Puppet Van (Brúðubíllinn) arrives, led by the famous Lilli
The Grand Raffle (Tombólan) – over 2,500 prizes waiting for lucky winners
Lace Café (Blúndukaffi) – homemade pastries and cozy countryside coffee corner
Taiko Drum Workshop with Halli Valli
The Tintron Rescue Team (Hjálparsveitin Tintron) showcases their gear and equipment – educational and fun
Climbing Wall for the adventurous – test your strength and courage
Cotton candy, face painting, sing-alongs, and joy for the little ones
Free entrance to the swimming pool for all guests during the festival
Excellent camping area on-site – stay longer and enjoy the whole weekend
