Grímsævintýrin á Borg - 100 ára tombóla!

August 22 at 13:00-16:00

Price description

Free

The annual countryside festival Grímsævintýri will take place on August 22, 2026.

This year, we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Tombola (a raffle), which has been held annually since 1926. The Tombola has a unique history and is one of the oldest continuously operating charity events of its kind in the country. Few events can boast such a long tradition, so we are placing special emphasis on honoring it during this milestone year and making it bigger and more impressive than ever before.

In addition to the Tombola, there will, as always, be a market, café, climbing wall for children, and various entertainment performances.

A more detailed program will be announced later — save the date and come visit Borg!

Grímsævintýri is an annual countryside festival that brings together local residents, former residents, summer visitors, and other friends of the area. The event is open to everyone and admission is free. Generations come together for family-friendly entertainment with an emphasis on togetherness, joy, and community participation.

Grímsævintýri is organized by the Kvenfélag Grímsneshrepps (Women’s Association of Grímsneshreppur), which was founded in 1919 and is one of the pillars of the local community.
