We paddle along the lake Löngudæl into the swamp area where we paddle along the narrow canals and into the river Hraunsá and all the way to the sea. We paddle along the coastline with the ocean on one side and the skerries and the small lagoons on the other. Surrounded by the beauty of the diversity of nature the lagoons are the ideal home for seals and birds. The trip ends in the harbor of Stokkseyri village. With only our headlamps shining over the water, our guide will lead the way through the canals, to our destination. Then we will turn off our headlamps and look up into the sky where the aurora borealis dances overhead, mesmerizing us with their splendor. Afterward, we return to our base silently paddling through the stillness of the night, accompanied by the cry of seagulls and the sound of the pounding surf a short distance away. Sólvangur is an authentic horse breeding farm in South Iceland where people can learn about and meet the Icelandic horse, visit the stable, take riding lessons, drink coffee or enjoy refreshments at the Stable Café, or even stay for a few nights in the peaceful countryside. The farm is owned by a family with passion for horses and a lot of experience and knowledge in the field. Today there are around 60 horses on the farm, as well as some other animals. The horses are well trained quality horses and the instructors are licensed riding teachers. Sólvangur is the place to visit if you love horses or even if you are just a little curious about them, as the Sólvangur team strives to educate and give people the chance to get closer to the Icelandic horse. The Maritime museum in Eyrarbakki offers a unique trip back in time, where you can see numerous items from the time when sailors, living on the south coast, rowed out to sea every day. The Merchants House in Eyrarbakki, was built in 1765 when Danish merchants began to overwinter in Iceland. Merchant families lived in the House for two centuries and over that period the House was the center for art and European culture in Iceland; fashion, music and litterature spreading from there throughout the country. Eyrarbakki was at that time one of the largest harbours and trading palces in the country, serving people of South-Iceland.  Very interesting exhibitons in the center of Eyrarbakki village: The Mercants House, Egg House and Kirkjubær.  Opening hours:Open every day at summers 10-17and by arrangement.
