Ice events

The visitor center is located on the horse breeding farm Skeiðvellir in the south of Iceland. There you can experience the icelandic horse up and close and get education about the horse. This is a perfect place to get to know these wonderful horses a little bit better. In the visitor center you can walk around in the spacious stable, touch and groom, horserental for children, pet the horses as you like and see the mares with their newborn foals. You can read about the history of the horse, how he has developed through the years in Iceland and learn about how the horse is used in Landmannafrétt for sheep herding. At the center we also have an exhibition with old artefacts connected with the icelandic horse and videos of virtual riding tours from the highland of Iceland are running all day. Additionally the Stable cafe is open everyday. Fun for the whole family.

Open daily june - september from 09:00 - 17:00.
